Random mode is best for important accounts. Longer beats “weirder”.

No sequences (123, abc)
No repeated chars (aaa)
Pattern-safe helps people who accidentally choose patterns. Still: longer is better.

Passphrases are easier to type and still strong when long enough (4–6 words).
Digits6
Avoid sequences (1234)
Avoid repeats (1111)
PINs are weaker by nature. Prefer 6–8 digits and avoid birthdays / patterns.

Recommendation: 16+ random characters or 4–6 word passphrases.
Best practices
A generator is only half the story
✅
Unique per site
Never reuse passwords. If one site leaks, attackers try the same password everywhere.
🧠
Length beats complexity
16–24 random characters is excellent. For passphrases, 4–6 words is a good baseline.
🛡️
Turn on 2FA
Even a strong password can be phished. 2FA helps prevent account takeover.
⚠️
Avoid patterns
Keyboard walks, repeats, birthdays, and “Company2026!” are predictable.
